Every person is unique, and so is the way we work together.
I use a blend of these approaches, tailored to your needs.
Psychodynamics
Focuses on understanding and resolving unconscious conflicts and motivations that may contribute to psychological distress. Often involves examining early childhood experiences or moments of trauma or intense stress.
Secure attachment work
Fostering healthy, trusting emotional bonds in order to build a sense of security and improve relationship health. Developing secure attachment leads to better emotional regulation, self-esteem, and the ability to form healthy relationships throughout life.
Somatic experiencing
A body-centered approach treating stress and trauma by focusing on the body's physical sensations in connection with thoughts and emotions as well as nervous system regulation.
Mindfulness & Wellness
Significance is placed on a felt sense of wholeness and resiliency to counterbalance anxiety and emotional dysregulation. Practices are introduced to slow down the body and mind, allowing oneself to become grounded in the present. Wholeness employs preventative wellness practices in areas that include emotional, physical and social.
Trauma-informed care
Utilizing principles based on understanding that trauma is common, pervasive, and can significantly impact individuals lives. Emphasis is placed on several elements including safety, trust, choice, collaboration, resilience and recovery.
Emotion focused theories
The focus is on increasing awareness, acceptance, and transformation of emotions rather than avoiding them. This approach involves exploring core painful feelings to uncover unmet needs, safely re-experiencing emotions, to help build emotional awareness, regulate responses, and foster healthier relationships and deeper self-understanding.
